How To Upgrade Windows 7 Easy Ways

Hi Friends! Windows 7 Starter edition is the cheapest, least-powerful version of Windows 7. It was never sold retail, and is only available pre-installed on inexpensive, low-power netbooks. But here’s the funny thing: Starter isn’t significantly faster than other editions of 32-bit Windows 7. They all have the same minimum hardware requirements. justify the low price, Microsoft removed a lot of features that can be found in other Windows 7 editions. It lacks Aero Glass which has since been discontinued in Windows 8), multiple monitor support, and Windows Media Center. And if you don’t like the desktop background (what used to be called wallpaper you’re out of luck. You can’t change it.

Upgrade to another 32-bit edition of Windows 7 (the 64-bit ones won’t work), you’re unlikely to see any performance hit. PC World Lab tests from 2009 showed no significant difference. (The tests were for this article, although Starter results didn’t end up in the final copy.) The Lab ran its WorldBench tests on the same PC running Starter, Home Basic, and Home Premium. Starter won, but in a statistical dead heat of 31 to 30. You’d need a stopwatch and quick reflexes to notice that difference.

If you do the upgrade and notice a performance hit, turn off Aero. It’s the likely culprit. You might also consider upgrading to Windows 8 (again, 32-bit). It might actually improve performance. But run the Windows 8 Upgrade Assistant before you put down any money. It will tell you if your hardware is compatible.

Microsoft Released OneNote Clipper For Chrome Users

Hi Friends! Microsoft announced OneNote would be free across all platforms to better compete with the likes of Evernote and Google's burgeoning Keep service.Following up its March freebie, Microsoft has released two new tools making it easier forSpringpad users to find a new home and for Chrome users to clip the web with a handy OneNote extension.Microsoft released the OneNote Clipper bookmarklet that let you save webpages to the QuickNotes section of OneNote. To install it, you dragged the bookmarklet into your bookmarks bar, signed in with your Microsoft account, and then clicked to save a web page.

several months of the web clipper being out in the wild, Microsoft discovered that a large number of OneNote clippers were using the bookmarklet in Chrome. To accommodate all those Google fans, Microsoft is now offering Chrome users a proper extension installed through the Web Store. To grab the extension, visit Microsoft's OneNote Clipper site in Chrome and then click the big purple button that says Install to Chrome.            migration
shutting down on June 25. To help Springpad users migrate to another service, users can either download their data as a ZIP file or use a Springpad-to-Evernote migration tool.Hoping to lure more people away from Evernote and into OneNote's waiting arms, Microsoft has created its own Springpad migration tool.To get started, visit Springpad's Save My Stuff website and sign-in with your Springpad account. On the next page, click Export Your Data, enter your email, and then click the yellow Export Your Data button.Springpad says it will then notify you within 24 hours when your data is ready for download. Toshiba Canvio Latest Reviews And Price

Canvio Home Backup & Share barely ticked my radar until Toshiba sent TECHDEBUTE one for evaluation. Color me impressed—mostly. The Canvio Home Backup & Share offers a robust feature set and good performance for its class; however, it retails on the high side.world of impressive desktop-in-a-browser interfaces, such as the one you’ll find in QNAP’s TS-469 Pro, the Canvio’s stack of tabs on the left seems quaint. Aspersions aside, it’s exceptionally easy to navigate because of a logical layout and concise, descriptive headings such
as StorageDownloader, and Media Server Setup. The interface is also very facile less is more when it comes to rendering graphics quickly.

Canvio offers nearly everything the average user needs: Windows and Apple networking support; users, groups, shares, and storage quotas; FTP, SSH, and cloud access; DLNA and iTunes servers as well as Bit-torrent downloading. It also supports both USB storage and printers via the single USB port on the back of the unit.
But, while you can back up the box’s configuration and settings, that’s it for data safety. Missing are the ability to sync with another server and to back up data to an attached USB drive. And you will want to back it up if you have no other repository: The Canvio HB&S is a single-bay unit without data redundancy.
performance, our 2TB unit proved plenty fast for media streaming over your home network, but its middling write speeds will make for plodding backup times. On the bright side, Toshiba provides a backup utility that enables full system restores on a PC, and there’s Time Machine support for Mac users. unit wrote our 10GB test batch of files and folders to its platters at 25.7MBps, and it read them at 38MBps. It wrote our single large 10GB file at 36.6MBps and read it back at 74.4MBps. That’s good for an inexpensive, single-drive consumer NAS box, but significantly slower than the data rates you’ll get from pro and business units.Client software for NAS boxes rarely factors into our NAS assessments. Most often you can get away without it. Not so the Home Backup & Shareo’s; you need the provided remote app if you want to log on from beyond the local network. Remote access via broadband (aka your “Personal Cloud”), once enabled, is handled automatically behind the scenes. Simply fire up the Canvio Remote client (available for Android, iOS, OS X, and Windows), enter the provided PIN along with your user name and password, and you can log on from nearly anywhere.
Toshiba Canvio Home Backup & Share
Canvio Home Backup & Share competes well with better-known rivals from Seagate and Western Digital, and the super-easy remote access is a deal-maker. But as I mentioned up top, its sticker price renders it expensive for its ilk: The 2TB model reviewed here carries and MSRP $200, while the 3TB model is priced at $270.At the time of this writing, however, Toshiba might have realized it’s priced itself out of contention. I found these boxes—which come with three-year warranties—selling on Toshiba’s website at the discounted prices of $150 and $195 respectively. Still, WD’s 2TB My Cloud might come with just a two-year warranty, but you’ll find that box selling online for just $135.

New iPad Mini Leaked And Release Date And Specifications,And Price

Hi Friends!rumors have popped up all around the internet about Apple possibly releasing a iPad Mini. This iPad will have a 7-8 inch screen, which is 3 inches less than the iPad 3. Websites such as JailbreakNation and CENET have been all over the iPad Mini. The planned release for the iPad Mini is this October of 2012. Again these are only rumors however.A few years back after the release of the iPad Original, and right before the release of the iPad 2, there were lots of questions reagarding a iPad Nano or a smaller iPad. Apple had said that there was no need for a iPad Nano or anything of the kind because of 2 reasons. The iPod Touch and simple because of no need for one with today’s market. However it is possible Apple may have re-thought those words and decided to go ahead and make a smaller iPad. The main reasons for this is because of the release of the Kindle Fire, and the release of the Nexus 7 tablet.

Apple does plan on releasing an iPad Minni it will be sometime around October. Already some possibil prices have come up and they are estamating that the starting price for an iPad Mini will be at $199 all the way up to $250. There is no news yet on storage options, however it is possible that they may be a 8GB iPad Mini.
Again all this news is all rumors, and everyone will just have to sit back and wait to Apple to do what they do best.

How To Use Xbox One Controller For PC Games

How To Use Xbox One Controller For PC Games

Xbox 360 wireless controller, which required a separate dongle for PC use, all you need to use the Xbox One controller on PC is a standard Micro-USB cable. The wired connection provides the power, so you don’t even need batteries. Unfortunately, you can’t use the Xbox One controller wirelessly on a PC at this time set up the controller, head to Major Nelson’s blog and download the drivers for either a 32-bit (x86) or 64-bit (x64) machine. (If you’re unsure which file to grab, open Control Panel, type About in the search bar and click System. Then, look under 'System Open the file you just downloaded. Amusingly enough, Windows will show an "unknown publisher" warning, even though the drivers are coming from Microsoft. Click Run in the box that pops up. You don’t have to plug in the controller to install the drivers.

Setup wizard should appear. Read and accept the license agreement, wait for the installation to finish, then click Finish. Now, plug in your Xbox One controller. It may vibrate briefly, and you should see a "driver software installed successfully" message on the System Tray.
Xbox One controller driver unknown publisher

Xbox One controller device ready popup
Games that support Microsoft’s Xbox 360 controller should automatically recognize the Xbox One controller without any additional setup controller did recognize several other games, including Dishonored, Super Meat Boy and Trials Evolution. Uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers did not help, so hopefully this is just a temporary issue that Microsoft and game developers can resolve through updates. Also, the first time I installed the driver, Windows 7 showed a "Runtime Error" after plugging in the controller, followed by an "XboxStat.exe has stopped working" error. The controller still worked, but the message was a nuisance. These messages went away after reinstalling the driver. Finally, keep in mind that plugging the controller into a PC will break its wireless connection to the Xbox One. You’ll have to plug the controller back into the console via USB to pair them again.
