Mac OS X Yosemite Latest Features

Mac OS X Yosemite Latest Features

Hello Friends! A major update to OS X generally means that many of the apps included with the operating system also get major updates or at least the biggest updates they’re likely to get until the next major operating-system release. In OS X Yosemite, due this fall, several major Apple apps have received upgrades both big and small. I’ve been using a pre-release version of Yosemite for the past month and have had a chance to spend a little time with Mail, Messages, and Calendar. Here’s a look at what’s new.

OS X FEATURES:

Apple’s Mail app is currently in a good place. I’m using it every day and it’s been working fine for me. Still, I was reluctant to test an early version of Mail on Yosemite with my real mailboxes. As a result, I can’t testify yet about any potential compatibility issues between Mail and either my personal Gmail inbox or my work’s Office 365 mail. Show/Hide toggle that displays the mailbox list is now more properly labeled Mailboxes Mail looks much the same as it did in Mavericks. But this is not to say that there aren’t some major new feature additions.

 mail maildrop

Feature I really like is Mail Drop, which eliminates the problem of emailing large file attachments. As someone who produces more than a few podcasts, I run into the issue of not being able to attach large files to email messages (the server rejects them) all the time. For years there have been workarounds, largely involving uploading a file to a remote file-sharing service of some sort and pasting in a link. Yosemite, that entire procedure is baked in to Mail and it’s all stuff that happens behind the scenes. If you want to attach a large file to a message, just drag it in and send away. Mail will upload the file to a temporary holding bin on Apple’s servers, where it will remain for 30 days. Then the attachment is replaced in your email message with a download link to the file. (If your recipient is using Yosemite, Mail will just download the large file automatically, as if it had been attached to the message.

Apple feature, eliminating a common headache without forcing the user to change their behavior at all. I don’t mind using Dropbox to exchange files with friends, but it’s a multi-step workaround and this is as simple and direct as it gets.Another interesting idea added to Mail this time around is a feature called Markup, which allows you to add simple annotations to images and PDFs from directly within a Mail window. Here’s how it works: You click on a file and an icon appears in the top-left corner of the file’s preview. Click it and select Markup, and the item zooms out, with a toolbar appearing directly above the item.

                         markup

Extensions technology that’s debuting in both Yosemite and iOS 8, in which code from an entirely separate application can appear inside another app’s window. In this case, Apple’s written a Markup extension that lets you draw lines, shapes, text, and more on PDFs and images. You can stick your signature on PDFs without ever leaving Mail. It’s a pretty clever idea.Unfortunately, I’m not thrilled about the implementation. Marking up a file really does feel like you’re using a different program entirely but one without keyboard shortcuts or a menu bar. I kept pressing Command-Z in order to undo mistakes I made in Markup, and it did nothing. The Markup controls are pretty simple they feel more like an iOS app than a part of Mail, to be honest but they definitely did the job once I got the hang of them.

OS X FEATURES:

MESSAGES:

Messages, Apple’s go-to app for iMessage and miscellaneous other chat services (that’s clearly the order of priority), gets a bunch of new upgrades in Yosemite that serve to enhance your conversations, so long as everyone is using iMessage. (Those miscellaneous other chat services are still supported, it’s just that support for them appears to have been frozen in amber for several updates. If you truly love IM like many of my friends do, you’d probably be better off using an app such as  for those services, and keep iChat focused on iMessage.

CALENDER:

Apple’s Calendar app hasn’t undergone as many changes in Yosemite, but there are a few worth noting. When you create a new event, it attempts to learn from previous events you’ve created and tries to autocomplete your event with likely dates and even attendees—if you often create a “Lunch with Jim” event on Tuesdays at 12:30, and you type “Lunch,” Calendar will suggest Lunch with Jim, at 12:30, with Jim invited.

The Day view has been overhauled. It’s still a two-pane view, but instead of the (fairly redundant) two daily schedule panes found in Mavericks, it’s a single schedule pane and an inspector pane that shows you all the details of a selected calendar event. If you create a new event in this view, the inspector pane is where you enter in all the calendar information. It beats the cramped space in the floating inspector palette.

How To Upgrade (or) improvement Microsoft OneNote

Hello Friends! Microsoft began asking for suggestions to improve its OneNote note-taking app on Thursday, a strategy it has successfully employed with its Xbox game console.Microsoft launched two OneNote forums: one for users, the other for developers. On both, users can make their own suggestions for improvements and fixes or vote up ideas others have made. If your suggestion matches an existing one, you can vote for ityou get 10 votes to distribute as you please, and if we fulfill a suggestion you voted for, you’ll get those votes back. Otherwise, you can submit a new suggestion along with a detailed description," Microsoft said in a blog post announcing the new changes.

At press time, the top request (with just 12 votes) was a "check off" read-only mode within To Do lists. "Often when I use OneNote on my phone as a shopping list, I hit the text rather than check box, and then I end up in edit mode," the suggestions reads.Although not as high-profile as say, PowerPoint or Word, OneNote has quietly grown to become a top-tier Microsoft Office app. Company executives called it out as the flagship app for the recent launch of the Surface Pro 3, for example, highlighting its ability to begin taking notes without going through the usual unlock process.

Microsoft unveiled Xbox Feedback, a similar site where gamers and developers could suggest new features for the Xbox One and Xbox 360 consoles. There, users contributed dozens of suggestions for new features, like running Xbox Music in the background (a capability that Windows Phone has). Microsoft obviously hopes to capture a similar level of interest for OneNote.

Download BBM Messenger For Windows Mobile

Hello My Dear Friends! Now A Days BlackBerry’s messaging service landed on iOS and Android several years too late, its (late) arrival on Windows Phone takes it to the next level. BlackBerry teased the launch of its BBM messaging service on Windows Phone back in February, and now users can finally get their hands on a beta version, the company announced today. The app boasts a native experience that makes use of the Windows Phone user interface and focuses on three areas: Contacts, Chats and Feeds. Swiping left and right will move you between the three pages, while common actions are found at the bottom of the page, and additional controls can be accessed in the menu through the button with three dots.

One of the more unique features BBM for Windows Phone has is the ability to pin a contact to the Start menu for easy access   when you select that BBM contact right from the Start menu, you’ll be taken directly to a chat window with them.

BBM Windows Phone 730x432 BlackBerrys BBM finally comes to Windows Phone, initially in an open beta

Similar to other iterations of the app, users can chat with one or many BBM contacts and have the ability to share pictures, voice notes, contacts and location. However, the beta version is still lacking stickers whichBlackBerry finally introduced earlier this year – BBM Voice, BBM Channels and location sharing powered by Glympse. BlackBerry says these will be landing in the “coming months.”There is also a feature known as BBM Groups, which not only has a private group chat, but a shared photo album where group members can chat about pictures, as well as shared calendars and shared lists.

BBM features feeds too, which lets you see when contacts update their status or profile photo (think Facebook updates in a chat app). If you want to chat with your friends about their latest updates, you just have to tap on their name to be redirected to a chat.BlackBerry is opening up the beta version of BBM for Windows Phone so users can test it and provide feedback, but if you’re waiting for the full release, the company advises you to wait “just a bit longer.”BBM was rolled out for iOS and Android devices in October last year, with BlackBerry saying it hit over 10 million downloads in the first 24 hours. However, the company seems to be fighting a losing battle as it joins the game so late. When iOS and Android became the dominant forces in mobile, BlackBerry didn’t speedily bring BBM over to its two competing platforms  and saw a ton of chat alternatives pop up instead.

iPhone Latest iPhoto Application- How To Use iPhoto For OS X Aperture--Download or install iPhoto for Aperture

iPhone Latest iPhoto Application- How To Use iPhoto For OS X Aperture--Download or install iPhoto for Aperture

Hello My Guys! usually limited to the few remaining customers that have stuck by it. In the case of Apple retiring iPhoto and Aperture, however, the disruption is much more broad: As iPhoto has been the included image management application on the Mac for years, it’s actively used by millions of customers. And although Aperture never made as many inroads into the professional community as Adobe’s Photoshop Lightroom, it was still the Apple-supplied pro option. Both programs are being replaced by Apple’s upcoming Photos for OS X application, which at this point is still a mystery: Will it incorporate the advanced features of Aperture, will it be a stripped-down limited clone of the Photos app under iOS 8.

                                mw iphoto aperture 3

HOW TO UPGRADE TO PHOTOS OF OS X:

important to recognize that you don’t need to immediately block off the next week to migrate your photo library. iPhoto still works and Aperture will be updated to work with OS X Yosemite, scheduled to appear this fall (likely October). That gives you at least a year assuming Apple won’t continue to support Aperture in the next OS X revision after Yosemite to plot a strategy, and more important, to evaluate options as they arrive.
Second, Apple has said that users will be able to migrate their existing photo libraries to Photos for OS X when the application arrives in “early 2015.” We don’t yet know what that migration process will look like, but it will probably be a built-in step the first time you run Photos that converts the library, just as previous updates to iPhoto and Aperture have done over the years.A big advantage on this front is the fact that iPhoto and Aperture share the same library format. Currently, you can open a photo library in either application without converting the data. Metadata and adjustments applied in Aperture that iPhoto doesn’t have inputs for are simply ignored. I suspect that will be the approach of Photos, pointing to a (hopefully) smooth migration process.

HOW TO USE PHOTOS FOR IPHOTO OR APERTURE:

Aperture and iPhoto by default store your photos in a single library file (which is actually a “package,” a folder that OS X presents as a single file). The library includes much more than just the image files, including thumbnails of various sizes, database files, and a maze of nested folders

.Remove your photos from Aperture: To make it easy for you and third-party applications to access your images, get them out of the library package and into a regular Finder directory.

                              aperture relocate menu

  1. Choose an option from the Subfolder Format pop-up menu. With None selected, all the photos appear together in the same folder. I prefer the Image Year/Month/Day option, which builds a folder hierarchy based on the photos’ capture dates.
            aperture relocate location

Remove your photos from iPhoto:

iPhoto lacks a Relocate Originals command, so the photos in its library file remain there. You can start storing newly-imported photos into folders, however: Go to iPhoto’s settings (choose iPhoto > Preferences), click the Advanced tab, and turn off the first option labeled “Importing: Copy items to the iPhoto Library.

                              iphoto importing pref

choose not to stick with Photos for OS X, or you want to explore your options before 2015, here are some applications that currently manage photo libraries. Most offer trial periods to get a feel for how they work.

SWITCH FROM APERTURE:

process is pretty easy from Aperture, which can export metadata such as ratings, keywords, and location information intact. However, there is a slight complication. The adjustments made to photos you’ve edited apply only when you export the images as versions, which means saving them as JPEG files. If your photos are already in JPEG format, this isn’t an issue. Choose File > Export > Versions and export the images.

But if you capture photos in raw format, you can’t go back and tweak an adjustment using a different application (such as changing just the Shadows value or the mix of red, green, and blue channels in a Black & White conversion).

The workaround is to export edited photos with their adjustments applied, and then export the photos’ original files separately so you have the option of editing the source files later. Thankfully, Aperture’s Smart Albums make the process a little more manageable.

Download Video Tuner For Windows Mobile's --Microsoft

Download Video Tuner For Windows Mobile's --Microsoft

Hello Guys! Windows Phone critics are usually willing to acknowledge that while the platform may be struggling on the software side, the hardware particularly the cameras tend to be pretty darn good. Now, Microsoft has rolled out Video Tuner, new video editing app meant to help bring the platform's video editing software up to scratch with the hardware. app, which has been optimized for Windows Phone 8.1, is a sort of a cross between Instagram and iMovie, combining advanced video editing tools with filters, lighting adjustments and other controls typically found in photo editing apps.Video Tuner is meant to compliment Windows Phone's hardware capabilities and the latest version of the operating system, Windows Phone 8.1, said Matt Collins, director of applications and partner marketing at Microsoft.

                                    Video tuner app
Many Windows Phones, particularly those in the Lumia line, have superior imaging and video-taking capabilities," he said. "We're tapping into the latest version of the imaging SDK, which we first published a year ago for developers to be able to tap into the impressive hardware capabilities the Lumia Line offers. It's bringing users closer to the horsepower that the phone has to offer."Begin by selecting a video clip from your camera roll and choosing from one of six menus of editing options. Video Tuner allows you to make simple adjustments, like trimming the length of your clip or speeding up or slowing down the frame rate. You can also fine-tune the volume of your video or add a backing track from a song stored on your device. app has dedicated Instagram and Vine settings, which help you trim and crop videos to the relevant length and aspect ratio for uploading to the networks. Additionally, all edits are non-destructive, meaning you can always reset your changes at any time and the original videos are preserved in your camera roll even after you've saved an edited version.

                                    Windows

Collins said the ability to easily undo was incredibly important to keep the app as user-friendly of an experience as possible. "When you think about video editing, it has long been the domain of people who have a particular skill sets...even iMovie has a learning curve to it," he said.We approached the challenge how do you create an app that's as easy to use as Instagram for photographs but do it for video so you don't need to understand insider vernacular.“
