Of course, we’re talking about photography, so there are plenty of devices and gadgets that give you this and many other options. An intervalometer, for example, fires the camera’s shutter at a steady rate over a period of time.

                                  

Instead of toting several devices for different shutter speeds, you can turn to your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch and the free app TriggerTrap Mobile. The app offers numerous ways to control your camera’s shutter, provided your camera is one of the hundreds that are supported. The app requires a cable that works with your camera (not all models use the same type of connector), available as a separate $30 purchase.As a simple cable release, TriggerTrap Mobile is definitely overkill, but in the best way. Four cable release modes let you fire the shutter with a single tap on the app’s giant red shutter button, by pressing and holding the button, by pressing once to open and pressing again to close the shutter, and by setting a specific timed release.

                                                       

App gets decidedly more interesting with its Timelapse and Sensor modes.The Bramping mode sets the number of shots and the interval between shots, but you also get to choose different shutter durations for the beginning and end of the shoot. As daylight fades, longer exposures make better use of available light. Or consider the DistanceLapse feature, which takes advantage of the device’s geolocation sensor to take a picture at distance intervals, such as every 500 meters.TriggerTrap’s Sensor modes fire the shutter based on sound, vibration, motion, or facial recognition picked up by the iOS device’s sensors and camera. In my testing, I set up my DSLR and an iPhone 5s to capture birds at a bird feeder. The Motion Sensor mode uses the iPhone’s camera, so I had to make sure it was pointed at the same spot. The mode doesn’t offer a sensitivity setting, resulting in some photos of the bird feeder shifting in the wind, but compensates with a setting to choose how many objects move in the frame before triggering the shutter.

          

TriggerTrap can take over in the cold when you want to stay cozy inside. If you have two iOS devices, the remote Wi-Fi trigger modes let you control the app on one connected to the camera from another. Curiously, the sensor modes use the “master” device that you hold, not the “slave” attached to the camera, making those features far less useful remotely. It also doesn’t work with modes that require the camera to be in Bulb mode.

Hi My Dear Friends! A new jailbreak for Apple’s iOS software that uses confidential information intended only for security researchers could develop into a more sinister attack, according to security analysts.The “Pangu” jailbreak, believed to be developed in China, was publicized earlier this week on a website. Applying the software allows Apple mobile devices running iOS 7.1 or higher to run unauthorized applications, which Apple discourages.The jailbreak is notable for two reasons. First, it uses a special code-signing certificate issued by Apple that allows enterprises to install applications on their users’ devices that do not come from the company’s App Store.Secondly, it also uses one or more mostly secret vulnerabilities discovered by well-known iOS researcher Stefan Esser to actually jailbreak the device, a fact that Esser isn’t happy about.

        

Training sessions on how to exploit iOS, but the information he shares with other researchers is meant to be kept secret. Pangu’s developers thanked “ i0n1c” on their webpage, which is Esser’s Twitter handle.How Pangu’s developers obtained the code-signing certificate that allows its jailbreak application to be installed on a device is a mystery, said Michael Shaulov, CEO of Lacoon Security, a mobile security company, in a phone interview Wednesday.Apple has two kinds of code-signing certificates that allow companies and developers to distribute applications that aren’t in Apple’s App Store, Shaulov said. A developer certificate has limits on how many copies of applications can be distributed, while an enterprise certificate allows unlimited distribution of an application.

                                      

Both certificates are only issued to vetted parties given their potential for abuse. Apple thoroughly reviews applications in the App Store to make sure APIs that open up access to functions like a phone’s microphone or camera aren’t available. But those with special certificates can allow their applications to do anything.Pangu uses an enterprise certificate with the name “Hefei Bo Fang Communication Technology Co. Ltd.,” according to a blog post written by Ohad Bobrov, CTO of Lacoon Security. Cursory Google searches did not immediately turn up information on the company.Hackers often try to steal code-signing certificates from legitimate companies so their applications pass muster, Shaulov said. It wasn’t immediately clear if Apple was duped into issuing an enterprise certificate or if it was stolen.It would be possible to use the certificate to create a malicious software program. But in Pangu’s case, it appears at least preliminarily it is just being used a means to jailbreak iOS.

Although it doesn’t appear to contain malware, Esser sarcastically tweeted: “I wish every one of my followers who installed Pangu much fun with malware from China.”For the Pangu jailbreak to work, an iOS device must be connected to a computer via USB, known as a “tethered” jailbreak. That’s not ideal for hackers, who would benefit from a jailbreak that can be executed remotely by tricking someone to click on a malicious link.

                                   

Fact that Pangu is bundled as an app is a first step in enabling attackers to develop a [jailbreak] tool that works remotely,” Bobrov wrote. “A user falling for the scam will install that app without ever knowing that running the app has actually led to the jailbreaking of their device.”Bobrov noted that if Pangu is refined to work remotely, it would be the first time since iOS 4 that a tool could do that.

Right now, the web version doesn’t have support for Exchange, which is what I use for work. Unfortunately, that means I can only view my personal Google Calendar. You also can’t add or edit an event from the web version: It’s simply for viewing. I’d eventually like to use Sunrise as my go-to calendar, but I can’t do that until the web client gets a feature boost that matches its iOS offering. The iOS app is awesome, but I like using my Mac to manage my crazy work calendar.

The device runs the Android Opens Source Project (AOSP) version of Android that doesn't include any Google services or apps, re-skinned with a Windows Phone-like feel. main screen is also loaded with Microsoft services including OneDrive, OneNote, Outlook.com, and Skype. Nokia services like HERE Maps are also present in place of their Google counterparts.

 X2 goes on sale globally in July the device will retail for €99 (about $135), contract free. That's a pretty good price for a device with respectable though not stunning specs, including a 4.3-inch display with 800-by-480 resolution at 217 ppi.

Under the hood, the X2 has a 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 200, 1GB RAM, USB 2.0, Bluetooth 4.0, 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi and a dual SIM slot.

The storage situation is pretty meager with 4GB onboard and an expandable microSD slot that supports up to an extra 32GB. Amateur photographers get a 5 megapixel rear-facing camera, and a front-facing camera for video chat.

X2 that Lumia-like feel, the new phone comes with brightly colored orange, green, yellow, dark gray, or white backings.

Microsoft didn't announce any specific availability dates for various global regions or countries. But the X2 is unlikely to land in North America similar to the three previous Nokia X handsets.

Hi Friends !  QuickBooks Online and its related set of apps, I’ve become a true believer. QuickBooks Online has had good iOS apps for accessing your QuickBooks Online data and now they’ve released the QuickBooks app for Mac, a free tool that brings your QuickBooks Online account to an app on your Mac.

                                 

QuickBooks app for Mac should not be confused with QuickBooks for Mac 2014—it’s not a standalone application, and thus, requires that you already have an existing or plan to setup a new QuickBooks Online account, which is $13 to $40 per month. QuickBooks app provides a Mac-based frontend to the QuickBooks Online Web backend, something you would normally access using a Web browser.

          

brings up an important note about QuickBooks app for Mac: At present it requires an active Internet connection. No Internet, no access to your data, although Intuit states that future versions of the app will allow you to work offline and sync changes to the Web once you’re connected again.

            

QuickBooks Online’s new interface, which rolled out to many QuickBooks Online users a month ago, the QuickBooks app for Mac interface will look familiar. QuickBooks app for Mac is a doppelgänger to QuickBooks Online’s new, less austere, graphically beautiful, and easy to master user interface. The app’s sidebar offers one-click access to QuickBooks Online’s accounting and business management tools. The app’s Home button provides a company overview that displays information on open, overdue, and recently paid invoices, current P&L and expenses. Displayed at the right of the screen is a list of all your accounts, their current balances and a number indicating how many unreconciled transactions each has.

Clicking anything you see on the Home screen takes you to the list of transactions associated with the item you’ve clicked. So, clicking the Overdue invoices link in the bar graph at the top of the QuickBooks app for Mac Home screen displays a list of all overdue transactions, where you can then select transactions and email the customers or print and send statements.

         

QuickBooks app for Mac is an excellent tool for managing your QuickBooks Online data using an app on your Mac rather than an app within a Web browser. While it offers nothing new in terms of features, the simplicity of using a Mac app rather than a Web app and the QuickView menu’s ability to provide up-to-date business information without requiring you to log in to your QuickBooks Online account make QuickBooks app for Mac an excellent addition to what is already a very good business accounting application.
